The sun might be shining but the autumn chill is definitely here! October has been another full month!
It started with meetings and the last visits to schools in Runcorn to invite them to come and find out more about the Faith in Action Awards at a BBQ which took place on the first weekend in October. We had our current group there and some new faces too. Parents were invited along too, to find out more about how they can support their children. It was a great couple of hours and the young people were excited to hear about what was coming up! (I forgot to take photos though!)
The week after however, there were many more pictures taken when the Confirmation and Faith in Action group came together and went to the Crocky Trail for the afternoon. They had great fun on the various slides, some with a near verticle drop, and working together to make things work.
The following week we brought fun and games to St. Michael’s – we played some games to get to know a little more about each other – some drawing skills were much better than others!
Challenge time involved lolly sticks, sellotape and Blu tack! The challenge – build a bridge and we’ll see how many postcards it can hold! So partnered up, off they went….this is what we got…
The first bridge built by the girls won with 325 postcards!! The middle one held 30 and the boys…well we put some on but it wasn’t really a bridge!! I can’t believe we did what we did next…Christmas Cards!! We made some cards that can be given to the housebound and parishioners that are visited, early I know but some times there is just not enough time to get things done. The young people didn’t seem to mind too much!
All in all a fun, productive couple of hours!
Confirmation Preparation has been ongoing throughout October and the group really are engaging and becoming more confident in their groups and sharing responses. It’s great to see the growth in them all!
October ended with a few days annual leave in Santiago de Compostela, yes, my second home! The weather wasn’t great but I still had a great time with Connie who I’d worked with during the Summer.
So November begins – Class Masses, Craft Fairs and much more!
